Since March 2001, the Reverse The Curse Crusade Ministry of Zion Hill Baptist church has been actively involved in educating and informing the general public concerning the devastating effect that HIV/Aids and other sexually transmitted diseases are having on our present day society. The work of this ministry was the out growth of a special program presented to inform the Black church of the great toll that HIV/AIDS was taking in the Black community. After hearing statistics relative to Ouachita County and the nation, the leadership of our church was moved to become active in confronting this menance to our society and to move from complacency to action. To carry out this mission, Reverse the Curse Crusades in cities near Camden and Ouachita Country were planned, as well as the formulation of support groups for those affected by the disease in the city of Camden.
We have conducted Reverse the Curse Crusade in two south Arkansas counties namely, Ouachita and Calhoun. These crusades were conducted with the assistance and support of the churches in the cities where the crusades were held. Refreshments, games, and publicity for each meeting was provided by churches in the local area.
